Experience the History of Egypt...

An Egyptian holiday is a trip to the ancient past. You will see ancient Egyptian monuments, testaments to an ancient culture, and remnants of the Roman Empire still clinging to the last vestiges of their once-great nation.

Accommodation varies depending on your destination. If you stick to the more famous of the North Africa destinations then you will have no problems procuring both travel and hotels. You can choose to travel as luxuriously as you wish, or wing it on a budget, the choice is yours.

Any trip to Egypt is going to include Cairo. The largest city in Africa, and Egypt’s capital, the main focus of any traveller’s trip here is to take in the mighty Pyramids, the mysterious Sphinx, the world-famous Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, and some of the largest bazaars in the world that you can wander through and find souvenirs.

Take a trip to the open-air museum in Luxor. This city is built on the ancient ruins of what was once known as Thebes, and you can hire a guide to take you into the various temples and tombs in this city.

Or consider Alexandria – once a great city of the Roman Empire, this modern-day port on the Mediterranean is still a bustling city and a popular holiday destination.

And no trip to Egypt is complete without visiting the famous two temples of Abu Simbel, built for the great pharaoh Ramesses II.

Egypt is a breath-taking glimpse into the past of North Africa, and well worth any traveller’s time.

The benefits of a cruise holiday...

Nowadays, cruise holidays are quite popular. If you go on a cruise for you holiday, you can go anywhere in the world and be treated like royalty. Who wouldn’t want to feel like a queen while sailing across the beautiful ocean?

A cruise isn’t just a mode of transportation; it’s a true blue experience. You won’t need to bring a lot of money with you to enjoy the activities on the ship: these events and amenities are usually included in your cruise package. All you need is to book the cruise package that is right for you, pack you bags and go!

Your package generally includes accommodation, room service, meals (main and buffet) and entertainment (climbing walls, surfing, pool games, fitness centres, shopping, ice-skating, and art events, among others). You should know that if you are on a cruise, the staff will expect tips, but if you don’t want to deal with it, you can include it in the price of your cruise package before you even step onto the ship.

If you are in the mood to try some exquisite wine or specialities, you can ask for this service and it will be included for an extra cost. Additionally, you can also take part in the casino, shore excursions and shopping for an extra cost.

Each cruise liner provides passengers with their own special services whether you go book a package with the Royal Caribbean Cruise, Mediterranean cruise, Virgin Holiday Cruises, Princess Cruises, P& O Cruises, Ocean Village Cruises, Cunard Cruises, Costa Cruises or Carnival Cruises. There’re so many of them so it’s up to you to decide! If you do your research, you’ll find the right cruise for you.

Belgium Beyond a Glance...

Brussels will be your main starting point for any trip to Belgium. You can fly in direct and use public transport to get around. Accommodation is plentiful, as are travel destinations. You are in for a medieval experience unlike any other as you branch out into the surrounding countryside.

Brussels itself sports a variety of historical and culturally significant landmarks, such as the Central Square and its Neo-Gothic buildings, the distinctive Mannekin-Pis Statue, and the headquarters of the EU. But it is the areas outside of Brussels that make this country such a unique trip.

Bruges is one of Europe’s best-preserved medieval cities. This open-air museum is a 13th century treasure-trove of medieval life, from the cobbled streets and maze of waterways to the horse-drawn carriage rides you can take through the city. View the expanse of red-tiled roofs from the central bell tower as you visit this city affectionately known as the “Venice of the North”.

Alternatively you can visit Ghent, which is another ancient medieval city that hides in the shadow of its bigger brother, Bruges. This destination is often overlooked in favour of the more popular, but Ghent was once the largest city in Europe after Paris, and there are far fewer tourists here, which means you can have a more intimate look at medieval life without the crowds.

And if a cultural experience is what you are after, then Antwerp should be on your list. Along with the Gothic and Baroque architecture are plenty of museums, churches, and art galleries, and the city is a centre for energetic nightlife, including plenty of contemporary nightclubs, bars, and restaurants.

Belgium is packed full of experiences beyond Brussels, and any traveller to Europe should take the time to delve beyond the simple well-known spots.

Travelling to New Zealand’s West Coast...

A bit more off the beaten path than most holiday destinations within New Zealand, the West Coast region is best reserved for those whose boots have seen a few miles, or those souls searching for an adventure beyond their hotel room.  Nestled between the massive peaks of the Southern Alps and the Tasman Sea, the West Coast region of the South Island is a rugged landscape that hearkens back to the simple country life. Hearty meals in front of a roaring fire, a thick beer to wet the throat while conversing with comrades, a natural landscape that is simply indescribable … these are just a few of the things which best describe the area.

Greymouth is the most sensible hub for any adventuring done in this region. It is nearly a four hour drive from Christchurch through the mountains, a scenic route which any traveller should undertake simply for the breathtaking views. But once you have arrived you can enjoy anything from luxury lodgings at the Lake Brunner Lodge, to a more local experience in Greymouth itself. Hotel accommodation is plentiful, as are car rental agencies, and there are plenty of scenic flights and train routes available.

But the most exhilarating scenes to be found within this region of New Zealand are those you can find by hiking. The West Coast is home to some of the only temperate zone glaciers in the world, and if you are brave enough you can take a climb with an expert guide. Or you can hike up to Denniston, an old mining village now abandoned to the encroaching rain forest. You can also visit the Pancake Rocks along the coast, where high tides and stormy weather create massive geysers of sea water that will have you remembering them in awe for months to come.

Cruise Around the World in Style and Comfort...

With the tagline, “The Most Famous Ocean Liners in the World,” Cunard Cruises are a symbol of class and elegance even back in the Edwardian period. The most famous names and personalities of the day waltzed, dined, and drank the night away in total splendour and surrounded with the luxury and glamour these cruises offered them.

Today, they continue with their tradition of being the cruise line with the best offers and packages for world-class travel, with three of their Cruises aptly named, Queen Elizabeth, Queen Mary 2, and Queen Victoria. Stylish, elegant, and comfortable, great world travel is what they offer. The journey promises to be as, or even more exciting, than the destination itself!

Cunard Cruise Line has just sold their Queen Elizabeth 2(QE2), one of the most well-known cruisers of the Cunard Line to Dubai World, and it will be converted into a luxury hotel, entertainment and retail complex.  Two of the other three ships remaining in Cunard’s cruise line – the QM2 and Queen Victoria – are four-star rated by cruise critics.

What is the Highly Skilled Migrant Programme?...

HSMP stands for ‘Highly Skilled Migrant Programme’ that encourages foreigners to apply for job opportunities or even self-employment in UK. It was introduced on 28th January 2002 and has since been replaced by the Tier 1 visa. This was also based on a points based system, where the Home Office used points to assess an applicant; academic qualification up to a maximum of fifty points; earning power based the country up to forty-five points; age up to twenty points and finally five points for any UK work experience.

An HSMP applicant must also show that he or she does not have any serious criminal record. An applicant must never been made bankrupt or be a discharged bankrupt. The HSMP applicant must also be intending to make the UK his or her main home; they must be able to prove that they are in a position to support themselves financially, by producing a bank statement or a pay-slip and finally the applicant must show proficiency in English.

For many current HSMP visa holders many feared that this change to a new tiered system of visas was going to force them out of UK. These concerns immediately prompted the House of Commons and House of Lords Human Rights Committee to intervene, arguing that the changes infringed on human rights legislation and it was later ruled in a judicial review as unlawful. The judicial review helped the affected HSMP visa holders to apply for the Tier 1 visa without leaving the country.

Working in South Africa...

Foreigners who intend to work in South Africa must apply for work permits before they start looking for work. Foreigners who are looking for work must complete a visa application form and submit it to their local South African embassy at least six weeks before their proposed date of departure.

South Africans rely on contacts and other personal recommendations when looking for work, but foreigners with few personal contacts in the country do not have to worry. There is no reason why the foreigners cannot compete in the work market and gain access to networking resources.

A foreigner can work many industry sectors within South Africa such as, information technology, engineering, accounting & finance, sales, marketing and many more. They need to work as the cost of living is changing rapidly in South Africa. There are career advisors for those who do not know what kind of work they want to do.

Due to high unemployment in South Africa, it can be problematic for a foreigner to obtain a work permit for non-permanent and, particularly, unskilled work. The few temporary jobs that do exist can be found in restaurants, hostels and within the tourist industry.

Au pairs usually need some experience in childcare, but they do not always need to be able to speak fluent English to obtain work. Wages are usually low, but food and accommodation is often included.

The voluntary work that is available includes tourism, environment, education and social welfare. There are many places you can visit to find work in South Africa and the country offers good jobs to people who are seeking employment.

Ideal Cruising with Virgin Cruises...

For those who do not like flying or have had one too many Hotel Holidays it might be the ideal time to look at a Cruise. If you’ve never been on a Cruise, book a trip on the Ocean Village liner. Ocean Village liners also have some of the most spacious cabins available, several restaurants, a massive 7000 SQ metres of deck space which is ideal for working on that tan.

The Ocean Village liners stop at a different location every day. You can (optionally) go off an explore for the day. Or stay on the ship and enjoy the facilities including Two Swimming Pools, Eight Bars, Entertainers for the kids and a Casino.
