The Eurostar – quick and affordable!

Eurostar is the express rail service connecting the United Kingdom to Belgium and France through the Channel Tunnel. In fact, a train can now take one from London to Paris in roughly three and a half hours. It allows city centre to city centre services.

It began to operate in 1994, then being owned by SNCB, SNCF, and British Rail. In June 1996, it was sold to London & Continental Railways (LCR). In the October of 1996, the name was changed to Eurostar UK, Ltd. (EUKL). Now, all of Eurostar has a single management team that has established one commercial and one functioning strategy across the entire company in France, the UK, and Belgium. The Eurostar runs up to nine trips to Brussels and 17 to Paris on a daily basis. In addition, no more than nine trains make a stop at Lille, and up to four services stop at the Calais Frethun en route.

On the 19th November 2007, Eurostar initiated services from Ebbsfleet International, which has the benefit of up to five daily trips to Brussels and seven to Paris. Also, Ashford International makes a daily trip to Disneyland Resort Paris (includes a stop at Lille Europe), three daily services to Paris, and seasonal services to the French Alps and Avignon.

On top of that, Eurostar offers connecting trips to more than 100 destinations across Germany, France, Belgium and the Netherlands. With that, one can reach Lyon within 5 hours from London, and Marseille in 6 hours and 30 minutes. Brussels Midi is the gateway for Germany and Netherlands, with easy connections to Cologne (around five hours) and Amsterdam (around five hours from London).
